7 Plug-ins in 1 Integrated Interface
Mastering requires a specific set of tools, and Ozone 3 has them all. Rather than a bundle of separate plug-ins, Ozone 3 is a single integrated system. This integration allows for a logical, optimized interface and superior sound quality not possible with a chain of independent plug-ins. With extensive metering, an integrated preset system, and full undo history, Ozone surpasses standard “plug-in” expectations to streamline workflow, save time, and keep you focused on creative work.

Analog Modeling
Ozone is the result of extensive research in analog modeling. Ozone provides compression, equalization, and harmonic excitation that recreate the behavior exhibited by analog equipment. Analog processing has certain nonlinear aspects that a mathematician would consider "wrong" but sound better musically. Any analog equalizer, for example, applies a small phase delay to the sound. These types of “imperfections” provide the analog characteristics of warmth, sparkle, depth, and an overall pleasing sound. Ozone captures the essence of analog gear to deliver sweet sounding masters.

Digital Precision
While analog modeling can provide a pleasant character or “colorization” to the sound, in some situations precise or “transparent” signal processing is desired. For example, you may wish to equalize or notch out a frequency without introducing the phase delay inherent in analog filters. For these applications, Ozone provides a digital, linear phase equalizer and crossover for a level of surgical precision not possible in analog hardware.

64-bit Audio Processing
When processing audio, Ozone can perform thousands of calculations on a single sample. In a digital system, each of these calculations has a finite accuracy, limited by the number of bits used in the calculation. To avoid rounding errors from interfering with the audible portion of the audio, Ozone performs each calculation using 64 bits. Can you hear 64 bits? No, but that’s the point. The rounding errors (inherent not just in Ozone but in any digital system) are pushed down into the inaudible range with Ozone.

Usability Enhancements: Undo and History
Ever have a late night recording session only to wake up in the morning with a tinny, horrible-sounding master? Audio fatigue is a real problem, and in this situation you would have to scrap the work and re-master the track. Ozone 3 addresses this problem with the ability to undo any and all parameter changes – even between sessions! As you tweak controls, each movement is captured and displayed in the History list. To hear a previous setting, simply click up the list to the point you want to audition. When working with mastering effects, perhaps most notably EQ and dynamics, it’s very easy to get accustomed to the “new” sound and overdo the effect. The History list lets you quickly jump back for comparisons to refresh your “auditory memory”.

ANALOG MODELLED OSCILLATORS
Three powerful oscillators provide all the classic waveforms, including a sine wave for those sub-bass floor-shaking grooves. INTEGRATED EFFECTS ON EACH INSTANCE
Novation set the industry standard with the famed Supernova synthesizer for providing a complete set of powerful effects on each part on the multi-timbral synthesizer. The V-Station adopts this sound structure which makes for six simultaneous effects per instance. The effects include a distortion unit that adds edge for harder sounds, a synchronised stereo chorus or phaser for spatial effects and a reverb that adds an extra dimension of realism. A synchronised panner and the delay engine complete the comprehensive line-up.

ARPEGGIATE, TWEAK AND SYNC TO THE BEAT
An arpeggiator with programmable speed, synchronisation and sweep range is available within each instance. Comprehensive synchronisation of time-based effects can be easily implemented. For example the delay effect may be set to a quarter note repeat whilst another LFO (built in to the effects unit) can sweep the phaser every two bars. All parameters respond to MIDI controllers which can be recorded in realtime on a track on the selected sequencer - set up a few instances, hit a single key and trigger a wall of sound. All running arpeggiators and LFOs can be individually synchronised to MIDI clock in different time signatures.

D16 Nepheton

Synthesis

Nepheton contains 17 fully synthesized instruments perfectly emulating the famous 808 drum machine. All the nuances and details of the instruments sounds are captured perfectly. The instruments models are equipped with additional controls giving you possibility to tweak the sound much better. Listen to the audio examples or just download the demo and try it out.

Outputs

Nepheton has a flexible output configuration. Every instrument's audio signal can be routed to any of the 17 outputs. This allows users to further shape sounds individually or in groups via their favourite plug-ins.
Each individual output can be set to mono or stereo. For the greatest 808 fans we've added also original Trigger output (configurable as well).
Every instrument also has a Mute, Solo button and Activity led. Mute will not just silence the sound, it will stop the sound being triggered. Solo will stop all other instruments from being triggered and only allow the selected sound(s) to play.

Control

Nepheton has extensive midi control. Midi notes can be used to trigger each individual sound. Alternatively, the internal sequencer can be used. This can be set to play using Nepheton's internal clock or set to synchronize perfectly to the host sequencer.

Most of Nepheton's parameters can be automated within the host and also controlled using MidiCC with an external controller. An easy-to-use Midi Learn function allows reassignment of any of the parameters.

Internal Sequencer

Internal sequencer's memory contains two banks of patterns: simple and extended. There is 16 extended and 96 simple patterns which both can be edited traditionally using the step buttons or using the tap function.

Simple patterns are used in Host Mode where each pattern location has a midi note number assigned to it. With these notes you can control freely the order of played patterns.

Extended pattern differs from the simple one in it has 4 segments (variation A/B and part 1/2). The whole bank of 16 extended patterns is divided into two groups of Basic Patterns and Intro/Fill In Patterns. You can choose freely from played patterns, used variations, and fill in modes (triggered automatically or manually). It also can be defined whether the starting pattern should be preceded by introduction pattern and many many more. Extended patterns are used when Host Mode is off.

A Randomizer function is also provided within the internal sequencer. It can be used to make simple changes to a pattern or create a whole new one - ideal when your creativity needs a boost! Randomizing can be applied to specific instruments and the frequency of occurrence can also be adjusted easily to give you just the right amount.

All external files are stored in the XML format. This allows single patterns or whole banks to be exchanged between users easily. XML allows the files to be edited in a text editor. Ideal if you want to post or share a pattern on a web site - just post the text!

GForce Minimonsta

Instrument Overview

Simply put, if you want a straightforward copy of a Minimoog, with little to chew on besides the obvious, you might be better off looking elsewhere. However, if you want a Minimoog on steroids and with plenty of attitude the Minimonsta:Melohman is the emulation for you. Because, whereas until now the numerous Minimoog clones have simply attempted to copy the original instrument and add the odd one or two features such as polyphony and another LFO, the Minimonsta takes a radically different look at this vintage masterpiece.

The original instrument was manufactured between 1971 and 1982 and was an instant classic thanks to it's musician friendly logical layout, tactile front panel, warm oscillators and powerful 24dB lowpass filter. In its time 13,000 were sold but in keeping with many other classic instruments, if you want one now, be prepared to pay handsomely.

The Minimonsta is a highly detailed and accurate emulation of this original instrument which operates on two levels.

Mini

Firstly, on the Mini level you have all the features and sounds of the Minimoog including accurate waveforms, a painstakingly accurate resonant filter, snappy ADS envelope generators and the wonderful Mini loop-feedback function. Using just these parameters, the Minimonsta has a huge tonal range from fat to fierce and from searing to sharp sizzles.

However, there is also another dark side to the beast, and it's here's where you can unleash a full-on Monsta.

Monsta

Instead of being shackled to a single LFO as per the original instrument, it's possible to assign an LFO to almost any original Mini parameter including filter cutoff, resonance, individual oscillator volumes, even each envelope parameter. What's more, each LFO has several shapes, sync, and delay.

Additionally, for every parameter to which you can apply an LFO, it's also possible to apply an extra ADSR too.

Then there's the ability to assign MIDI modulation to any original Mini parameter an create effects such as dynamic glide times or velocity response to filter (both positive and negative). Put simply, the scope for sound design and sonic creativity is limitless.

Melohman

And as if that's not enough, you can dynamically morph between twelve patches within a Meta-Patch thanks to the unique Melohman octave. This takes a static software instrument and adds serious performance and dynamic real-time control - a boon to those real players out there.

Drumazon

Synthesis

Drumazon synthesis emulates all the sounds of the original 9O9. All the instruments are synthesized in exactly the same way as the original. All the nuances and detail of the original are captured perfectly. In addition, all Drumazon instruments have enhanced controls. D16 Devastor

D16 proudly presents our first Fx Plugin from our "Silver Collection" - Devastor. Devastor is a simple but remarkable Multiband Distortion Unit. It is an enhanced version of the distortion unit from our synth Phoscyon. Being multiband, the sonic mangling capabilities are endless!

Structure

Devastor consists of three blocks: dynamic-gain module, diode-clipper distortion and three filter sections. Each of the filters can process the signal before or after the diode-clipper. The filters are not the peaking EQ type which are used in classic multiband distortion They are like those found in analogue synthesizers (low pass, high pass, band pass and band reject)- with adjustable resonance and cutoff. As a result, Devastor has a completely unique sound - just check out the Factory Presets.

Versatile and advanced

Devastor can used to distort and enhance a wide range of sounds - From full-on acid synth sounds to guitar fuzz or analogue amp with combo speaker. It can even be used with drums to make them sound more dirty and dynamic! Devastor isn't just good at creating distorted monster sounds. It can also be used subtlety to improve the timbre and character of more gentle sounds. Reducing the preamp gain, increasing the threshold and selecting a soft-knee for the dynamics will bring out more warmth and detail in a sound without introducing distortion.

When designing Devastor, we applied special antialiasing techniques to the output signal to make sure the signal had no aliasing (aliasing is one of the reasons why digital distortion units sound so cold and un-musical). As a result, Devastor has a warm, musical and very high quality sound.

Stylus RMX is a completely new groove-based virtual instrument plug-in for Macintosh and Windows. Stylus RMX is the first product to offer the combined power of Groove Control™ with Spectrasonics Advanced Groove Engine (S.A.G.E.™) technology giving users dramatic new control over groove production and performance.

Spectrasonics’ in-house development team created the new instrument from the ground up, with dozens of new features including the ground-breaking Chaos Designer™, a completely redesigned multi-page user interface, a new core library of sounds, all with a focus on realtime groove creation and performance.

New Core library
The massive new 7.4 gigabyte core-library in Stylus RMX has thousands of cutting-edge grooves and sounds that were created by Spectrasonics’ international sound design team, and produced by Eric Persing. The new core library contains nearly triple the amount of sounds originally offered in the original Stylus, and contains all the original material as well. The new sounds and grooves in Stylus RMX offer a much wider range of modern musical genres than the original Stylus. Mixes of grooves are broken down into individual tracks called Elements for flexibility and infinite combinations.

Also new in Stylus RMX are thousands of new Kit modules, 250 Kit patches, as well as user Kit construction....Users can create their own customized multitrack remix grooves and kits, save them into the plug-in, and even share them with other Stylus RMX users on different platforms and hosts. RMX 1.5 even comes with 500 new Multi grooves!

“Xpandable”
Stylus RMX marks Spectrasonics’ first expandable virtual instrument, with a series of five new “S.A.G.E. Xpanders” for Stylus RMX at $99US retail each. Stylus RMX also can be expanded with existing Groove Control CD-ROM libraries and even REX files – which opens the door for musicians to utilize their own audio loops within the powerful S.A.G.E. Environment.

Chaos Designer™
Of the many new capabilities in Stylus RMX, possibly the most innovative feature is the Chaos Designer™. With simple controls, the user can introduce musical Chaos into the groove, which allows it to have constantly evolving variations— giving the impression that the audio grooves are improvising. The results can be subtle or extreme by setting the simple to use controls. A Capture feature allows the spontaneous audio chaos patterns to be made into a MIDI file, dragged and dropped into the host sequencer, and played back again for further editing by the user.
